Why don't dreams come true?! LOL

I dream often.... of waking up and finding that this dear 'lady' has been to my home while we have peacefully been sleeping.

I don't know why she never turns up though!!

I've decided that keeping a home clean (especially while having 3 little children) is almost as enjoyable as bashing my head against a brick wall.

Today I have scrubbed the kids bathroom and toilet, cleaned my kitchen - I have this terrible bench right inside the main door that we use that ends up as a dumping ground - it is now clean! I've also cleaned my sewing desk - which is now doubling as a desk for a laptop for the bookwork I have to do for Missy Moo's preschool. (I have to add that the stuff that was on the desk hasn't been dealt with - just moved!!!)

How do people keep organised? I haven't done any sewing for days and the house still looks like a bomb has hit it!!

I've stayed motivated all day and it's now 2pm. I'm going to pull up a chair and have a break while Buddy Boo sleeps and the big kids are at school.

Anyone want to be my cleaning fairy?! PLEASE?!

Yes, I also would like this fairy to visit me ... totally understand what you are saying Maree, I have spots that have become 'a dumping ground', and I live with only 2 extras in the house who are a little older and should know better ... I gave up many years ago on trying to have a spotless home ... now I live in organised ciaos and I can normally put my hand on whatever I am looking for!
and you live in the bush!!!

This is the best suggestion I have ever heard ... A friend works on if it doesn't get done by lunch time, then it can wait until tomorrow ... as the afternoon is her time to stitch.
So, enjoy your 5 mminutes stitching .. P

Maree - feeling your pain!
I go off to work and come home and those damn fairies havent been!

Im not an organised person by nature but I find that in itself frustrates me and not having the space for everything that I want..........

Oh well.......time to go and just shuffle some things around on the sewing desk that takes over most of the lounge room to try and achieve something. LOL

I'd love to have one of those cleaning fairies as well.... Hope you got to enjoy a small break in your cleaning day at least!

Well be prepared your house will look like a bomb has hit it for a long time yet....up until the kids leave....just a little tip...I was the compulsive house cleaner, dusted, washed floors, put the vacuum over the floors every day, yes every day...my boys hated it....things change...why do you think I make lots of table toppers...they hide the dust....

No cleaning fairy here either Maree! .....and any mess around the place is mine ....no-one else to blame....unless I blame Rose! The kids won't remember if the place is dusted but they will remember you spending time with them and having fun with them. .....and you need to take time out to sew!

Let me know if you get any takes 'cause they just might be silly enough to come to my place afterwards :)

I've put on my Emergency Fairy costume but sadly my little wings are not suitable for long distance flight. Shame that... there's nothing I like better than a good blitz clean.
Word from the wise (ha!)... don't sweat the small stuff (or the big for that matter) happy cared for kids are more important than housework any day of the week. Mothers rock... OK!!

No volunteer for cleaning fairy duties here either :)

There is only the two of us but I usually do any housework in the morning and the afternoon is me time, but if I don't do something then I just think "well the world isn't going to end if .... isn't done"

I also do a couple of things each day rather than try and do it all on the one day.

I am not offering but when someone else does please send her to me next!!! I would love to say it gets easier when they get older but it just changes. Just remember the saying 'kids will not remember how clean their house was growing up but they will remember the time spent with them' (or something like that!).

I can sympathise with you completely....in order to have new cupboards fitted in my sewing room, I emptied and moved all the existing shelves etc in there, dumping the stuff in the hallway. I only returned the 'good' stuff that I wanted in my sewing room, intending to house the rest in other cupboards....it is still happening one cupboard at a time thru the house.....the hallway is still a disaster.......how to be organised???? when you find out tell me please!!!...oh, and I have 2 children to mess the place up too....seen a 14 yo girl's bedroom????? scary!!!!! Send the fairy here when she's finished at you place......
